Beta testing · Thank you 💛
You're one of the first people to try it. Below is how to get set up and a few things to look for — about 5 minutes, and there's honestly no wrong way to do it. Just play with it and tell us what you notice.
Get set up — just once
Get the free TestFlight app from the App Store, then tap the button above (or the link we sent you). It installs EverHeard for you.
The very first time, EverHeard downloads a language pack — a few minutes, just once. After that it works anywhere, even offline.
When it asks, tap Allow — that's how it hears speech and sounds. Nothing ever leaves your device.
Open ⚙ Settings (top-right) and type your name, so EverHeard can highlight it and alert you when someone says it.
What to try
Tap the big “Tap to talk” button and speak — or play a video/TV.
Look for: do the words appear and keep up?Say something in Spanish, French, or another language.
Look for: it captions in that language — not translated to English.Have two people talk. Then record your own voice in Settings → “This is my voice.”
Look for: each voice in its own color — yours in gold.Knock on a table, ring a doorbell, or play an alarm.
Look for: a banner names the sound at the top, and the device vibrates.Have someone say your name out loud.
Look for: it highlights in the captions and buzzes.Rotate it, prop it up, and use it during an actual conversation.
Look for: anything confusing, slow, or delightful.Email alex@everheard.app — what you tried, what happened, and what you expected. If a caption or sound was wrong, roughly what was actually said or heard. Screenshots help a lot. Even “it worked great” is useful!
EverHeard keeps a small, private, on-device log of how captions and voices performed — no audio, no recordings, and nothing is ever sent unless you choose to. These two things tell us exactly what to fix:
✋ When a caption is wrong, press and HOLD it → “Mark as wrong.” This pins the exact mistake for us — it's the single most useful thing you can do.
📤 When you're done, tap ⚙ Settings → “Share diagnostics.” An email opens already addressed to us — just tap Send (no need to change the subject or type anything). That's it.
💡 Test it in a real, noisy moment — a conversation, dinner, the TV on. A quiet room is easy; the everyday racket is exactly what we need to get right.
Your privacy is safe: the log lives only on your device and is shared only when you tap Send.
EverHeard runs advanced speech AI entirely on your device, so it works best on a 2020-or-newer iPhone or iPad; older devices may lag or show a notice. Voice colors are experimental and shine with clear, close-up audio — you can turn them off in Settings. Everything you say stays private on your phone.
